Team Authoring
The PLSystem authoring tools make it easy for all content creators, whether they are instructional designers or subject matter experts, to create effective learning experiences.
Our
authoring tools allow users to capture course objectives, to iteratively
refine the course structure, to identify the essential knowledge in
the course, and to organize content into well-defined categories to
create an effective learning experience for the student.
The PLS course design process includes collaborative activities to reinforce what the learner is learning. Throughout the instructional design process, authors have access to learning frameworks, such as Bloom's Taxonomy, with suggested ways of incorporating these concepts into courses. On completing the course, the author can deploy it with one simple action. The course is automatically assembled into a structure that can be delivered by our Profound Learning Delivery System (PLDS) and uniquely adapted to each learner's learning needs.
Designing The Learning Experience
Using the PLSystem® a team of instructional designers and subject matter experts, working in a community setting, create effective learning experiences. The learning experience is a community template that can contain lessons, discussion topics, assignments, web sites and articles for additional reading and exercises. Once the community templates have been created, any number of learning sessions can be scheduled using the community template. The learning session has an optional instructor/mentor who is available during the learning session.
PLWriter
PLWriter is a web-based authoring tool that allows subject matter experts with no knowledge of web technologies (such as HTML, style sheets, media embedding, link embedding, and JavaScript) to easily create rich content-based courses. Using a powerful, server-side, course content management system, the author is freed from managing the assets that comprise the course. The author can create great looking courses using standard style-packs that contain course templates, style sheets, and images. Tools for quickly importing image sets from PowerPoint and other graphic tools provide a rapid path for converting existing training materials into full courses.
For the advanced author, PLWriter provides additional advanced instructional design features such as practice exercises, unit level quizzes, course exams and final graded exams. PLWriter also supports HTML editing and the incorporation of advanced web features in the course.
Content Management
The PLSystem® manages all aspects of creating, sharing and deploying modern web-based training content. Powerful learning object manipulation functions allow authors to easily restructure courses and copy learning objects from other courses. When performing these functions, the relationships identifying where content is used are updated to ensure consistency of the courses.

Course Standards
All our authoring tools support the import and export of SCORM compatible courses and the delivery of these course on all commonly used computer and operating system platforms.
